FAQ

Functional medicine looks at how and why your symptoms developed, then works to restore health by addressing the root causes unique to you.

I begin by looking at your medical history and symptoms through a different lens than a conventional doctor. Traditional medicine often focuses on naming a diagnosis so it can be paired with a prescription or a rehabilitative treatment. Functional medicine goes upstream — searching for the underlying drivers of your symptoms and reducing the inflammatory influences that keep you feeling unwell.

My goal is simple: to help you feel better, reduce your dependence on unnecessary medications, and empower you with the knowledge and tools you need to stay healthy long-term.

I ask for a 3-month commitment to begin your health reset, as this gives us enough time to create real momentum and see meaningful improvements. Some people reach their goals within those first few months, while others benefit from continued support. After your initial program, you’re welcome to continue at a pace that feels right for you through a monthly or twice-monthly membership plan. I meet you exactly where you are and support you every step of the way.

I currently see patients virtually using a HIPAA-compliant electronic medical software. At this time I’m able to work with individuals who live in Florida, where I’m licensed to practice.

Excited to begin?! Motivation is key to begin the work needed to see the changes you want to experience.

I do request a 15 minute Discovery Call so that we can make sure that we are a good fit for each other. You can sign up for a Discovery Call here .

Your first appointment is a full 1-hour visit where we take a thorough look at your health — your symptoms, history, lifestyle, and what you’re hoping to improve.

This in-depth conversation gives me a clear understanding of your unique story so I can create a personalized plan that’s truly aligned with your needs.

I offer advanced functional testing when it’s helpful, and if recommended, we’ll coordinate it directly with the lab (these tests are separate from the program fee). At the same time, your annual labs often give us valuable insights, and I can often start with them while we begin the work of improving your lifestyle foundations.

I view medication as one tool in the toolbox — not the first place I reach, but something I’ll consider when it’s truly necessary for your healing.

My goal is always to support your body so that, over time, you may rely less on medications whenever safely possible. I don’t personally deprescribe, as that must be done with the original prescribing provider, but I’m happy to collaborate and support you in that process as appropriate.

While a large part of your healing momentum comes from personalized nutrition and lifestyle guidance, some people do benefit from targeted supplementation based on genetics, digestion challenges, or true micronutrient deficiencies. Certain supplements may only be needed short-term to support healing, while others may play a longer-term role depending on your unique physiology.

I use Fullscript, a trusted online dispensary that offers professional-grade, high-quality supplements. Everything is third-party tested for purity and effectiveness, and I provide a generous discount for my patients. You’re also welcome to source products elsewhere if you prefer.

Together, we identify what will actually move the needle for your body so you’re not wasting time, money, or energy on guesswork.

Functional medicine is not typically reimbursed by insurance at this time. By opting out of insurance, this allows me to provide you with visits that are unhurried, thorough, and reflective of the comprehensive care central to the functional medicine model.

Patients can use their Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to pay for services with me. I can provide a Superbill that you can submit for reimbursement.

I accept credit card payments through my secure HIPAA-compliant client portal.

I am more of a health consultant that works with you to educate you and help you achieve your health goals. I am open to communicating with other members of your healthcare team in order to provide continuity of care.

It is important that you see your primary care provider regularly so that they can handle ordering important screening tests (like mammograms, colonoscopies, etc.). I do not provide urgent/same day care that might require immediate interventions including hospitalization.
